Like an Athlete Entrepreneur

Back in 2015, I left my comfortable corporate job and decided to transformed myself in a boxing coach and co-created WEBOX. Something that came out of passion, NOT because I wanted to be an entrepreneur.
As female entrepreneurs in general it's harder to break through the market. Women are still less likely than men to scale their companies to their full potential. We face a number of disadvantages in taking their company to scale. Because of fewer role models, lack of access to seasoned advisors and less private start-up capital flowing in our direction.
While these barriers remain, WEBOX still runs and succeeds even though we fund this ourselves and had to make some adjustments; being social movement to make a global impact.
The key is that, we, as founders, adopt our mindset to think like an athlete, as a boxer and perform like one. We use these tools we learned in the ring into our own company.
Just as in any individual or team sports we have:
1. The confidence in our abilities and use our strength where it's needed.
2. Passion, a strong focus and determination to succeed.
3. We know where to put the 'right player' in the 'right position'.
4. We roll with the punches, bounce back from failures, seeing this as feedback that can only make us stronger.
5. We know when to rest, reflect and reset so we can be our best when our best is required.
